Founded in 1978, Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM) is among Latin America's most prestigious universities, with over 2,700 students enrolled in the disciplines of architecture, business administration, dentistry, economics, education, entrepreneurial engineering, law, medicine, nutrition, political studies, psychology, public accounting, and social sciences.
The University awards degrees at levels of associate, licenciatura (licentiate), magister (artium and scienciae), MD, DDS and doctorate. It targets the brightest students for admission and has the most rigorous entrance requirements in the country.
Since 2014, Rising Tide Foundation is providing scholarship funding support for ten exceptionally bright and motivated students to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree at UFM; five scholarships for each year in 2014 and 2015.
These scholarships are designed to help the poorest and most talented students from the rural provinces, and cover full tuition and fees, room and board, medical insurance, and a stipend for public transportation, books and basic personal expenses.
